Quicker shopping for CFM customers
2011.12.02
Customers at Comptoir des Fers et Métaux in Luxembourg were to benefit from quicker and easier shopping; this served as the basis for the relaunch of the online shop and the integration of two new features.
Comptoir des Fers et Métaux
Comptoir des Fers et Métaux, in short CFM, has used our technical services for some time. Working with the
web design agency Amyma (Luxembourg), we have now implemented the
relaunch of the online shop. The shop uses the
OXID shop system and has always offered customers outstanding convenience and user-friendly facilities. Since the relaunch,
shopping has become even quicker due to two interesting features.
Firstly, we have integrated a
direct entry function, an input mask whose appearance is similar to a conventional order form. Buyers can
enter the order numbers directly, supported by
input assistance (auto-complete). At the same time, the system checks whether the
item is in stock.

Customers who do not know the order numbers also benefit from quicker shopping at the new online shop. On the overview pages within a category, users can
put the relevant number of several different items into their shopping cart at the same time. As soon as the number of items is entered, the system uses an AJAX function to calculate the
total price. The advantage of this
multiple selection becomes clear when you want to buy products from a certain area of operations in a minimum amount of time.
Since the relaunch, much has changed – and not only for CFM customers. The shop system is also a resounding success for CFM itself: traffic has greatly increased and CFM has received much positive feedback from customers.
